Learn about the Bills

SJ7 (FAILED): Seeks to amend the WY constitution to allow the legislature to define what constitutes health care (in direct contradiction to the 2012 amendment passed by WY voters that enshrines the right for competent adults to make their own health care decisions in Article 1, Section 38).

HB3 (PASSED): Provides special protections for Unregulated Pregnancy Centers (UPCs) to allow them to continue peddling medical misinformation.

HB4 (PASSED): Expands Medicaid coverage to licensed birthing centers in Wyoming.

HB74 (FAILED): Requires public schools to provide feminine hygiene products free of charge in restrooms.

HB117 (FAILED): Requires special informed consent and a 24-hour waiting period for patients seeking abortion care because it argues (citing false studies) that the majority of women who seek abortions are coerced and therefore need special consent requirements.

HB126 (PASSED): Prohibits abortion after 6 weeks when there is a "detectable heartbeat." When similar bills have passed in other states, it has effectively implemented a 6-week abortion ban. This bill was introduced one month after the WY Supreme Court struck down two abortion bans for being unconstitutional.

HB186 (FAILED): Requires school districts to provide "growth and human development" curriculum in grades 5-12 to show a video (that must be approved by the legislature) likely created by the anti-abortion group Live Action called "Baby Olivia" that provides misinformation about fetal development with the intent to indoctrinate children with anti-abortion sentiment.
